For high school students planning to pursue healthcare careers—whether as doctors, surgeons, public health workers, nurses, or other healthcare professionals—Xtatic HealthCare International Medical Camp offers a rare opportunity to explore the field of medicine in depth. This four-week program combines virtual training with immersive hands-on experiences in China, giving students a comprehensive view of what a future in healthcare could look like.

Program Overview:

• Duration: 4 weeks (2 weeks virtual + 2 weeks onsite in China)

• Departure: SFO to China

• Partner Institution: China Medical University (located in Shenyang, Liaoning, China)

What’s Included:

The camp begins with two weeks of virtual preparation followed by two immersive weeks onsite in China. Students will engage in activities typically reserved for healthcare professionals, including:

• Auscultation: Listening to internal body sounds like heartbeats and breathing

• Medical consultation: Interacting with real patients under the supervision of licensed doctors

• Patient intake procedures: Learning the fundamentals of patient evaluation

• Aseptic techniques: Practicing sterile techniques essential for medical procedures

• Surgical procedures on dummy patients

• Cleaning and sterilizing medical equipment

• Dissection for anatomical study and hands-on understanding of human biology

• Field trips to local hospitals, clinics, and healthcare facilities to observe how healthcare systems operate in China

• Cultural immersion: Engaging with healthcare professionals to understand how different cultures approach medicine

• Global healthcare observation: Learning about healthcare disparities and how professionals address them
